Emergency PIN

Set up an alternative "Emergency PIN." When entered instead of your main PIN, Arcanum will appear normal, but it will generate a separate Bitcoin key, giving access to a different wallet while keeping your primary funds safe.

To make this feature more convincing, consider storing a small amount of Bitcoin in the emergency wallet.

The emergency wallet is derived from your BIP39 words, so no additional backup is required. However, it cannot be used to access your primary wallet.

Timed Brick PIN

A discreet variation of the BRICK ME PIN, this option introduces a time delay (minutes/hours/days) before Arcanum locks itself.

During this period, Arcanum appears to be processing, but once the timer expires, it permanently bricks the device (or optionally wipes the seed). This adds plausible deniability and protects your device in case of coercion.

BIP39 Passphrases (25th Word)

Allows you to create multiple hidden wallets, improving fund organization. Unlike a single emergency PIN, BIP39 enables unlimited wallets for enhanced flexibility and security.

Brick Me PIN

Set up a "Brick Me" PIN that, when used, permanently destroys the secure element, rendering Arcanum inoperable. This feature can be part of your duress protection plan.

Login Countdown

Enable a login delay for added security. Enter your PIN, wait for the countdown, and enter your PIN again to access your device.

    Dual Secure Elements for Enhanced Key Protection

    Unlike some hardware wallets that rely solely on the main processor for sensitive data storage, Arcanum utilizes dual Secure Elements from independent manufacturers to safeguard your Bitcoin keys.

    Arcanum incorporates Microchip's ATECC608 and Maxim's DS28C36B to securely store your critical master secret—the 24-word BIP39 seed phrase.

    To compromise your funds, all three components (the two Secure Elements and the main processor) would have to be breached simultaneously.

    Firmware Authenticity Checks

    To prevent unauthorized tampering, our firmware is signed with a factory key. On every startup, the firmware and memory are verified, and a Green/Red indicator displays the result.

    The indicator is controlled by dedicated circuitry linked to a Secure Element, making software manipulation impossible. Any physical interference with this circuitry would also be visibly detectable.

    Anti-Phishing Security Words

    Arcanum’s PIN is divided into two parts, such as 1234-5678. After entering the first part, two security words appear on-screen. These words are uniquely tied to your device and PIN prefix, acting as an additional security layer.

    Memorizing and verifying these words during each login ensures you're using your authentic Arcanum device, protecting against phishing threats.

    Arcanum’s PCB layout provides resistance against physical tampering, and the transparent casing allows users to inspect for any unauthorized modifications.

Arcanum's clear plastic casing is an essential security measure. Some competitor wallets have been compromised by having unauthorized hardware inserted inside to capture keystrokes.

Unique Security Seal

Every new Arcanum arrives in a tamper-proof plastic bag with a unique serial number. This "bag number" is permanently recorded in the device during packaging. It cannot be modified, and you will be prompted to verify it when you first power on your Arcanum.
